Wake Up

2 Corinthians 4:18b

The things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal. (NKJV)

What can be seen lasts only for a time, but what cannot be seen lasts forever. (GNB)

Yesterday still exists. It’s just that we can’t see it anymore as it has passed but we can surely and always make reference to it.

Tomorrow exists as well and is yet to come. We cannot see it but we can make plans for it.

They can be categorized as unseen.

Yesterday and tomorrow can be altered by those having divine powers but the physical men can unfortunately only touch today. Yet, the physical men still can’t touch ‘today’ so well because those on the other side can heavily alter it from yesterday and tomorrow and then sit comfortably to see its effects play out. Now, the inputs the physical man makes into ‘today’ are usually the effects of what the spiritual man has touched earlier.

Your yesterday can affect your today and tomorrow likewise!

God doesn’t want us to be mere men on the earth blinded to the mysteries surrounding it. We are living stones…We have eternal Life…We are led by the Spirit and not the flesh.

What does this tell you?

Physical is temporal, Spiritual is eternal. God has given us dominion already but we (some of us though) live ignorantly on our throne not knowing what to do to exert or exercise our dominion against the wishes and will of the enemy. There are spirits…but let the Spirit of God guide you. It is only on this platform (the Rock, Jesus) that our dominion is complete.

…to be continued

You’re valued

“If the Lord should mark iniquities, O Lord who could stand?”

No one is indeed worthy, just His grace that has kept us. So do not condemn yourself or allow the devil do so because there is still hope.

“O Israel, hope in the Lord; for with the Lord there is mercy, and with Him is abundant redemption.”

Note the words, ‘abundant’ and ‘redemption’. He would redeem your life much more than you expected.

“And He shall redeem Israel from all his (Israel) iniquities.”

Our Lord is faithful!!!
Come to Him and receive His forgiveness, He’s waiting.

Psalms 130:1-8

There is something about man in the presence of God that we’ve not clearly understood. Logically, we’ve not been able to reason out clearly why God will continually throw Himself out for the sake of man.

And when I say throw out, I mean God constantly reaching out to man from beginning till date against all odds. Him always always showing concern and willingness to help and rescue us at all times despite how stubborn we can be.

All we can say is that this is love but such depth of love we’ve not been able to measure. Such kind of love we’ve not been able to say, “okay, it is to this level that He loves me and that is all”. No, we’ve not. We only see the actions that represents or stretches our understanding of His love from time to time.

So at this point I also join to ask, “What is man that You are mindful of him…” [Psalm 8:4]

This question at this moment is real to me and I can in a way feel what the originator felt before popping this question.

Who are we to God to have Him show us an immeasurable amount of love?

And at the end, a crown has He prepared for those who overcome. With what I’ve seen I’m undeserving of any crown; Christ is. What have we done that requires such level of honour to be given to us???

Beloved, nothing at all.

The crown is a reward for loyalty from God Almighty Himself. Now, that’s an honour which shouldn’t be joked with. The favour is much and missing out on it is not an option worth considering at all. Our journey here on earth is an opportunity to prove and show our loyalty to Him no matter what it takes us.

We don’t deserve a crown so as to request for one ourselves but God has decided to give it to us if we stay till the the end. He has once again decided to crown us with glory and honour for being a good and faithful servant.

Jesus loves you!!!

Think this through.

We as humans are like compilers always consuming the various kinds of code we come across daily and giving the corresponding output for such codes intentionally or not.

As some persons fondly say, “we are a product of your thoughts”. Now consider those thoughts as various lines of codes which when executed amounts to your output.

From our illustration, If you run the wrong codes you’d get the wrong output and vice versa. Right?
But then what if you run the right codes and yet still arrive at the wrong output??? Where do you think the problem is coming from?

The compiler right???

Yes, the compiler can be faulty, and if ‘good’ or ‘bad’ codes are run it still gives the same wrong output. No matter how elegant your skills are, they would still amount to error. That’s awful. You may painstakingly read through those codes in a bid to find an omitted character and still get lost.

It’s the same with us.

We were faulty compilers having an incorrect behaviour and always giving out the wrong outputs no matter how much we tried until Christ Jesus showed us the way; himself.
He was crucified, he died, and he rose. And through his death he has giving us access to become worthy compilers; setting us free from our usual errors by giving us His Perfect Life. His death saved us from sin and it’s wages, death giving us access to eternal life.

But then, this isn’t an update but requires a complete disengagement from the old life to receive the New one.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. [John 3:16]

Accept Christ, receive Life.

Unlike compilers, we are living beings and have the ability to make choices. But then making reference to Deuteronomy 30 : 11-19, there is a need to choose wisely:

The Offer of Life or Death
11 Now what I am commanding you today is not too difficult for you or beyond your reach. 12 It is not up in heaven, so that you have to ask, “Who will ascend into heaven to get it and proclaim it to us so we may obey it?” 13 Nor is it beyond the sea, so that you have to ask, “Who will cross the sea to get it and proclaim it to us so we may obey it?” 14 No, the word is very near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart so you may obey it.

15 See, I set before you today life and prosperity, death and destruction.

16 For I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, and to keep his commands, decrees and laws; then you will live and increase, and the Lord your God will bless you in the land you are entering to possess.

17 But if your heart turns away and you are not obedient, and if you are drawn away to bow down to other gods and worship them, 18 I declare to you this day that you will certainly be destroyed. You will not live long in the land you are crossing the Jordan to enter and possess.

19 This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live

And this is why Christ Jesus came:
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I (Christ) have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. [John 10:10]
He came that you may have life, and have it to the full so choose wisely.

Jesus loves you!!!

My God

My God
The God of all
Yet no one can predict Your ways
You alone remain as God
My God

You’re the Lord of Hope
The Great I am
The One Who saves a future
Makes it bright and cultured
You’re awesome

Great is Your Name
Great are Your ways
Great are Your gifts
Great is Your Son
Who remains the Perfect Gift
for my weary soul
Great is your love
My God

His Humiliation, Resurrection, and Glory

Sacred Songs and Solo (SS&S) 117    and  Hebrews 10:1-12

I came across this hymn yesterday and while I still pondered on the sacrifice Christ has made for me, for us, He made me see Hebrews 10:1-12. Both writings were very similar and then it dawned on me again that Christ Jesus made a very reasonable sacrifice on the cross. Yes, His death on the cross was a reasonable one. He did not just do it for show or because he wanted to die on a wooden material. No !!! His death was symbolic and very necessary for our relationship with God.

Take a look at Hebrews 10:1

For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year to year continually make the comers thereunto perfect. 2. For then would they not have ceased to be offered ? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.

Now take a look at the first stanza of SS&S 117

Not all the blood of beasts

On Jewish altars slain

Could give the guilty conscience peace

Or wash away the stain

The hymn gives a summarized explanation for the death of Christ on the cross.

V.10 of Hebrews 10 shows us that we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. The death of Christ has opened us to much possibilities because His death brought us freedom. Freedom from sin and death.

This singular act of Christ gives us an idea of how much He loves us. God Almighty loves us but we don’t. We claim not to be aware but the truth is that we ignore Him deliberately. Yes, we ignore.

Can we have a rethink ???

Consider a relationship with Christ Jesus today. Accept Christ as your Lord and Personal saviour today.

Word for Today

But as for me, I will look expectantly for the Lord and with confidence in Him I will keep watch; I will wait (with confident expectation) for the God of my salvation. My God will hear me.

Micah 7:7 (AMP)

Academic Hope

Second class (upper) is good

First class is wonderful

But One who has Christ is the greatest of them all.

You know why ??? There’s hope of gaining the other two as a student in Christ. Those qualifications on their own cannot show you the Way; they cannot show you Christ but with Christ Jesus He brings them to you by showing you what to do.

Now, you may have had issues and it seems everyone is angry with you over your grades or maybe your life in general. Their assertions on how you’d end up as a ‘careless’ person keeps you in thoughts and you’re becoming weary.

Beloved, don’t give up. You know what, even if as a person you’ve fallen out of that which your future was meant to be. Still know that those who ‘kill’ you with strong words didn’t plan that future. It was and is the Christ whom you have that did.

So know it’s between you and Jesus. The good thing is that with Christ Jesus whom you have there is hope. Plenty hope if I may sound so. So everyone who corrects you should also remind you of this hope so you can be better.

The truth is this; you can be better. I shouldn’t limit your efforts and so I’d say, “you can be the best”.
Hard work is essential !!!
